In the On the shores of Raahe (“Raahen rannoilla”)-blog, I tell stories about nature hikes to the forest terrains of Raahe and the ever-changing seascapes in the Raahe archipelago.

Mikonkari (on the mainland) and the islands of Konikari, Ämmä-Äijä, Iso-Kraasel, Smit, Tasku and Kalla are great excursion destinations – not forgetting the others! The islands can be reached by canoeing, rowing or boat transfer. Many of the islands can be skied or walked in winter.

The trails of Vihanti and the ancient trail marked out by four village associations offer plenty of hiking opportunities even further from the seashore. Raahe also has the largest giant church in Finland!

On the Raahenrannoille.fi website, I refer to the Taipaleita blog (in Finnish only) which inspired me to establish the raahenrannoille.fi website. The Taipaleita blog contains over a hundred excursion stories with pictures from Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland.

Raahenrannoilla.fi is a website that provides information about nature sports activities in the Raahe region. The focus is on SUP kayaking and hiking. Content can be found on nature trails with starting points as well as SUP trips in the Raahe archipelago. The website also contains a wide range of additional information on, for example, equipment rental and sales as well as archipelago transport. Raahenrannoilla.fi is a great stimulus site for anyone wondering where to go on a trip!
