Raahe has plenty of marked trails of different lengths for hikers – also in the archipelago! Descriptions of routes can be found, for example:

In the Vihanni district there are more than 100 km of marked trails, known as “Vihannin kinttupolut”.
The Raahe Ancient Trail is a joint project of four village associations, in which a network of trails and hiking trails between the villages was implemented. The route network presents numerous ancient relics and sites from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.

In Raahe, the trails don’t end right away, even by running! You can run by the seashore, for example. In the Mikonkari recreation area or inland forests. Mikonkari hiking area (in FInnish only) consists of three trails marked with different colours:
Mikonkari Tour, 1,7 km (yellow)
Parr trail, 800 m (red)
Rivi route, 2,5 km (blue)

CYCLING
Off-road cyclists prefer e.g. Hummastinvaara hiking trails (5, 10, 15 and 25 km) marked mountain bike trails.

SWIMMING
SWIMMING
For those looking for a swim, there are beaches with both salt and fresh waters. The most diverse additional activities can be found at Pikkulahti beach, where beach volleyball and beach football courts as well as an outdoor gym are located. The ice swimming season is 1.9.-31.5. The locker room key can be obtained from Kuntokeidas Vesipekka for a season fee. Read more here.

In Raahe you can ski on land or at sea – or at the Haapajärvi reservoir, for example.
Information about the skiing track network maintained by the city can be found on the Raahe.fi website. More great trails are run by volunteers.
